Digital Marketing Coordinator – Carlton Trail College
I have been working for Carlton Trail College, headquartered in Humboldt, SK, since 2023 as their Digital Marketing Coordinator. In this role, I collaborate with our marketing and communications team to plan, create, and share the stories, news, programs, and events that shape our rural college community. As part of a small but mighty team, my role often spans many areas of the College’s communications, marketing, and promotional activities.

Carlton Trail College is a regional college located in east-central Saskatchewan, with four main learning centres in Humboldt, Watrous, Wynyard, and Punnichy. The College offers a wide range of programs, including professional and trades certifications, Adult 12 (academic upgrading), industry training, and continuing education opportunities for learners across the region.

A major part of my role is developing engaging awareness and advertising campaigns that align with the College’s visual identity and strategic goals. I design and produce content for all major social platforms, ensuring consistent branding and storytelling across channels:

This includes creating short-form video content, reels, static graphics, and digital ads to promote programs, celebrate student success, and highlight community partnerships.
Posters, Reports, and Print Materials
A key part of my role is creating up-to-date posters and social media graphics that support and promote the College’s classes, programs, and courses. I also collaborate with our executive team to design and produce professionally presented reports, documentation, and publications that align with current branding standards and visual guidelines.
Digital Signage, Highway Signs & Billboards
As part of our digital marketing strategy, I help manage, design, and update the graphics displayed on the various digital signs and billboards used throughout our region. This includes placements along Highway 5 in Humboldt, where we promote key recruitment messages, seasonal campaigns, and community events.

Promo & Merchandise
In addition to digital work, I also assist with the coordination of the design and production of college-branded merchandise available for staff, students, give-aways, and general community promotions.

Celebrating a 50th Anniversary Milestone
When I joined Carlton Trail College in 2023, it was a very special time as it was the College’s 50th anniversary year. During this milestone year, our marketing team led several commemorative projects, including a year-long “Throwback Thursday” social media series that celebrated key moments, stories, and developments from the College’s history.
This project involved digitally archiving decades of photographs and documents, uncovering the people, communities, and milestones that helped the College grow from its inception in 1973 to 2023. Some of this work has also been encapsulated into a physical time capsule made especially for the occasion. The time capsule is cleverly built within a commemorative metal art sculpture that was also unveiled for this golden anniversary, and is not to be opened until 2073.
